Job Description:

• Preparing concept designs of mechanical sub-system that meets customer requirements and expectations, reliability and robustness requirements, manufacturing processes and safety guidelines.
• Working knowledge of 3D modeling & generating 2D drawings per mechanical drafting standards.
• Understanding of tolerances and effect on design (6sigma design methodology).
• Setting up & maintaining bills of materials and releasing mechanical prints.
• Supporting prototype/pilot builds.
• Performing mechanical verification tests per products specifications and writing test reports.
• Compiling information for user manuals and/or instruction sheets.

Basic Requirements: 

• Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related disciplines with at least a CGPA result of 3.0 or 2nd class upper.
• For fresh graduates/ entry level applicants only. No previous employment upon graduation.
• Successful applicants will be participating in a 12 months apprenticeship under the Graduate Training Program (GTP).
• Demonstrated successful experience in mechanical engineering design from concept through production release with a focus on DFM is an added advantage.
• Good in analytical & problem-solving skills.
• Good knowledge of material properties (sheet metal and plastic).
• Experienced in 3D CAD and 2D drawing, specifically Pro/E Creo is an added advantage.
• Experienced in various manufacturing processes such as plastic injection molding, metal stamping, plastic bonding, metal welding, PCBA & electromechanical assembly is a plus.
• Able to communicate & present the conceptual ideas to the technical audiences.
• Able to work as an individual as well as a good team player.
• Must be willing to work in Bayan Lepas, Penang.
