Job Description

This position will be based in our Malaysia office located in Mid Valley, KL

You’ll spend most of this internship making videos that go out to TSL Malaysia’s audience. Pitching them, shooting them, cutting them, and then watching how they perform.

You must be able to commit to a minimum of 24-weeks (6 months) internship.

What you will do:

  • Pitching video ideas and getting them sharpened in the room before you shoot.
  • Shooting and editing. This is where most of your time goes. Your videos go out on TSL Malaysia’s platforms and need to hold up against everything else we publish.
  • Planning shoot schedules and helping run photo shoots.
  • Ideating and curating content for the social platforms, and picking up the surrounding skills as you go. Media monitoring, basic image editing, reading performance analytics.
  • Working with the editors to hit deadlines and KPIs.
  • Coming along to events, openings and tastings, since a lot of the footage comes from being there.Learn how to pitch and refine ideas
  • If you want to be on camera, there’s room for that. Some of our interns end up presenting, and it’s genuinely one of the better things to have on a reel. It isn’t a requirement and you won’t be pushed into it.

The successful candidate should have:

  • You can already edit video. Show us. A reel, a TikTok account, coursework, a YouTube channel, anything you’ve cut yourself.
  • Your English is strong.
  • You’re close to what’s happening in Malaysia and online, and you have a feel for what makes people stop scrolling.
  • You can commit to [24 weeks] and be in the Mid Valley office.

What you will gain:

  • A reel of published work with real view counts behind it, which is worth more than a showreel of student projects.
  • Skills across the whole content stack. Shooting, editing, photography, basic design, social management, and reading the analytics afterwards.
  • Feedback from editors who publish daily and will tell you plainly when a cut isn’t working.
