Mitsui & Co. (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is a subsidiary of Mitsui & Co., Ltd, a major investment and trading house in Japan, consisting of diversified business line such as mining, oil and gas, chemical, infrastructure, mobility, healthcare, retail, food, and real estate.

Mitsui & Co. began its journey in Malaysia in 1959, or two years after the country’s declaration of independence.

Over many years, we have worked together with Malaysian government and local business community in developing the country’s infrastructure and economy. We are proud to have played key roles in establishing Gas Malaysia Berhad, national gas company as a founding joint venture partner, and to start PERODUA, a local car manufacturer by investing in the company and bringing in Japanese automobile technology.

Today, we have presence in many industries, such as health and wellness, food and retail, chemicals, mineral and metal resources, iron and steel products, infrastructure, energy, mobility, and ICT. We are also active across supply chains in a wide range of industries and provide essential raw materials to various companies in Malaysia and abroad.
